Meet the Alphas
After spending his teenage years and twenties racing short events Mark Bayliss decided to move up to distance events during his thirties.
His racing career started when he began Secondary school, competing in swimming, cycling, running & triathlons, along with playing waterpolo. Mark also competed for England at Junior Level in Waterpolo and youth level for Great Britain in Duathlon and Triathlon.
Since turning 30 he has swum the English Channel solo (2007) as well as part of a 4 person relay team in 2011. He's also competed for three consecutive years in the Sri Chinmoy Lake Zurich Marathon Swim (26.4km), raced 3 Ironman triathlons, 15 marathons and 20 ultras, including the Marathon des Sables (2011).
In 2012 he completed the Enduroman Arch to Arc and is the current World Record holder as well as the first person to complete the swim section without a wetsuit. You can learn more about Mark on his blog.
