Meet the Alphas

Michael Chambers

Michael Chambers is a high-altitude mountaineer, ultrarunner, and vivacious raconteur with a penchant for charity and Mexican food.

In the Spring of 2013, after encountering rime ice and unmanageable weather conditions on Mt. Everest, he turned a team of 7 climbers around at the Balcony on the Summit Pyramid. Having used all of his oxygen on the summit attempt, he did not have the resources to make a second push two days later with the rest of his team.

This year, he intends to use his experience to lead the first Kenyan expedition up Mt. Everest, and aims to summit both Everest and Lhotse within 24 hours. His website can be found at
